I had the pleasure of attending the RT Book Lover’s Convention as a reader in Kansas City (2013) and New Orleans (2014) and as an author in Dallas (2015) and Atlanta (2017). The convention is HUGE and I was able to meet so many of the authors I have read over the years, as well as connect with readers.
Although I did not attend this year’s convention in Reno, the announcement that Katherine Falk would be retiring and RT would no longer be publishing their e-magazine made it across social media like a wildfire.
What did not spread as quickly is news the ladies that ran the convention for RT are still continuing the Book Lover’s Conventions. 2019 will be back in New Orleans May 15th-19th. I believe reading it will be at the Hyatt Regency. One of my favorite authors, Christine Feehan (her ‘Dark Gold’ was the first PNR book I read and was hooked) is one of the authors they are advertising will be there.
Here is the link to sign-up for their newsletter. I have no information about when registration for next year will open. One of my local RWA (Romance Writers of America) friends and I have already decided to road trip to New Orleans and join in on the fun.
Here I am at the Atlanta RT with 2 reader friends and author Jeannie Hardt.
